Who is who at Albion

Here you can find information about the people who design, make and sell the Albion Swords.
  • The Face (and Voice) of Albion US: Mike Sigman

Mike SigmanAnother fine son of Wisconsin, Mike was waiting for us when we got to New Glarus. What can we say about Mike that hasn't already been said? To most people, Mike is Albion US. His is the voice you hear when you call, but he does so much more than customer service. He is also business manager, trade show representative and wears a lot of other hats as well (though all of them have a Packers logo.)
  • Production Manager: Harlan Hastings

Harlan HastingsOriginally from Upstate New York, Harlan has the thankless job of Production Manager, which means that he arranges for the stocking of all supplies and equipment - from steel and castings to sanding belts and drill bits. Harlan has to be jack-of-all trades - overseeing everything from heating and air conditioning to lighting, electrical specifications, machine repair - you name it. He is also responsible for coordinating activities between the various shops and with outside vendors. Harlan has appeared at over 25 trade shows with Mike Sigman, representing Albion, and has worked hard to make the kilt the official uniform of Albion.
  • Blade Shop Head: Joel Waites

Joel WaitesJoe moved up from Alabama to join Albion. As head of the Blade Shop, Joe is responsible for supervising heat-treatment and grinding of all production blades. Joe is a work horse and can take a lot of punishment - as anyone who saw him in the "Smack the Viking" game at Lanzefest can attest (Joe was the Viking...) Joe learns very fast, is extremely dedicated to his craft, and full of surprises.
  • Cutlery Shop Head: Joel Donahue

Joel DonahueJoel is originally from the Chicagoland area. He runs the cutley shop, supervising the finishing of parts and final assembly of the swords. Having run businesses in the past, Joel´s insights have been very valuable well beyond his cutlering skills. The Philosopher of the group, Joel can get some pretty interesting discussions going.
