The I:33

This sword exhibits the look and handling characteristics of the swords used in the plates from "Fechtbuch I.33," an anonymous German manuscript from approximately 1300.

It is highly significant as the earliest surviving manual of swordsmanship. Known as Manuscript I.33 (and pronounced "One thirty-three" rather than "Eye-thirty-three") it deals entirely with the use of the Medieval sword and buckler.

This "Sword & Buckler" manuscript now in the collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds, England, has been traditionally referred to as the "Tower Fechtbuch", or number I.33 (Tower of London manuscript I.33, Royal library Museum, British Museum No. 14 E iii, No. 20, D. vi.).

The sword features rounded edges, stainless steel hilt components, and a treated cord-wrapped grip.

This sword would be a suitable practice equivalent for the Next Generation Sherriff, Yeoman, Soveriegn and the Museum Line Solingen swords.

I:33

I have first glimpsed upon an Albion a yar ago, as my teacher in Medieval swordsmanship is amongst your biggest fans. I think he has bought about 17 swords from you, from the Museum, Next generation and Maestro lines. As his student, I had the chance to work several times with both the I.33 and The Lichtenauer, and every time it send two zapping messages in my head - "This sword is incredible", and "I gotta have one". I remember how on our second camp everyone tried to have some time with an Albion (My teacher has 3 of each). Finally I saved up enough money to buy mine, and managed to get the last one before it went out of stock. And it arrived faster than I could've imagined! I was sleeping, so one of my housemates actually signed for the delvry and jumped into my room, shouting "Merry Christmas!". It took me five seconds to open the box, I even managed not to destroy it. Because I have seen and worked with the sword before, I thought that I wouldn't be so amazed, like your other customers. Wrong! To have your own changes everything., From the first swing it felt like it was a part of me. The finish, the quality, the balance is great, it is perfect. A girl I have been teaching a few basics took a hold of the sword and was amazed at how light it is, The day before she was complaining about the weght of my wooden wasters. She, with her weaker muscles, felt it even stronger than me - the dynamic balance of this sword is top-notch. Just wanted to say thank you, your work is absolutely breathtaking, I hope next time you'll be sending me a Museum line Brescia Spadona - my second big dream.

The Red Wyverns medieval reenactment group are very impressed with the I33 sword. My daughter (not the strongest of people and relative novice) was for the first time able to hold her own in the sword and buckler sparing demonstrations , mainly because the sword is just so perfectly balanced and provided such a confidence boost. She still can’t stop grinning every time she picks up the sword.

Maestro Line Meyer and I:33

I have just received the Meyer and the I33 swords ; they are really excellent training tools, especially the Meyer which is perfect. And thank you very much for the plastic case and oil bottles.

Thank you very much for the I.33 and the Earl. I had not pracised with the Earl so much at this time (so I can not tell anything about it) because the I.33 is at this time much more interesting. I have used this sword in free play (with and without buckler) and for showfight. It is for both the best sword, that I ever had in my hand. For free play it is fast as a devil with perfect controll. Absolutly that what I hoped to get. I thought the would be some problems in showfight - because it is much lighter than the swords of my partners and I thought it could give some problems with the blade. But there is no problem. The blade is perfect

I just got my new sword half an hour ago (that shipping went fast :-)) and I find it absolutly amazing. I have been looking for a decent one hand sword for quite a while now and none of the countless swords I tried came near what I just experienced. The previous one hander I had was about 1.5 kg, about the same size (half an inch longer then the I:33 tough the I:33's blade is a bit wider at the crossguard) as the I:33 and it had a huge pommel. It also had the tendency to take control of the swing, in conterary to the I.33 which is in control all the time. All in all the I:33 is better then I hoped it could be and I'm still very glad I ordered it.
